Ended up with a sanga for dinner last night – Crayfish at that. Was awful and ended up in the bin pretty early on.
Talk about plumb tuckered tonight. Up around 0400 this morning and managed to stay in the room until 0830.
We nearly had a few bladder accidents when Nigel walked out of the bathroom with a full on slicked down comb over, tucked in white singlet and jeans hoiked up to his armpits – Look out Uncle Arthur.
Once Nigel had rearranged himself - we walked over to Kensington Park and all the way through over to High Street Kensington. Past swans on the lake, loads of squirrels (seeing them was on Tom’s wishlist for London – so ticked that off!) and Lady Di’s home which is being turned into a tourist attraction where you can see all ‘the’ dresses and have high tea.
We had breakfast at Whole Foods – a massive three story organic grocery store – crepes and hot choccies where the choice for today. The place was amazing!!!
Tom got his little pot of fresh sliced mango to take away and proceeded to spill it on the floor just past the checkouts. Repeated the process and purchased another one and he was happy, until he realized he didn’t really feel like Mango anyway.
We jumped on the tube over to South Kensington for a few photos outside the Lamborgini store…. Then headed over to Harrods to let the kids loose in the toy department. A few little goodies later ,we headed off to a tiny French café called Café Rouge for lunch.
After a quick rest back at the hotel it was time for our BIG event. HAMLEY’S. The biggest toy shop in the world, down in Regent Street (conveniently a few doors down from Anthropology!!) The boys had a 1630 appointment with Father Christmas which went for an hour. The Elves entertained them all and fed them dinner while one by one they went up and had a chat with the big man and showed him their Christmas lists…. They left with bags of goodies and gifts - It was a really well done event, held four times a day leading up to Christmas and well worth booking before you leave.
We spent another hour covering all five floors of the toy shop and the boys spent the rest of their Christmas money.
Quick stop at the stunning Anthropology store on the way back to the tube and a look at all the awesome Christmas lights down on Regent Street, it was tube time back to the local pub for dinner.
Back at the hotel, Koji is now entertaining himself with his thermal pants pulled up under his armpits in front of the full length mirror, having a ‘wiggle’ – yeah. He just made a comment that ‘this would be hilarious if pop was dressed like this!’ Nigel said he looks like a ‘bleached Steve Urkle’ – not unlike his father this morning I must add.
Time to pack – early start tomorrow and off on the Eurostar to Brussels.
